AGM followed by speaker
April 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:15 pm
The date for the AGM is Monday 23 April 2018 at 7.00 pm at The Upstairs Annexe, Central United Reformed Church, 60 Norfolk Street (Facing Crucible Theatre on the corner of Chapel walk) Sheffield S1 2JB-light refreshments will be available half way through the meeting. Car parking at the side is only available for people with a disability-it would need to be authorised by me as there are only limited spaces.
We are following the format as previous years comprising of a much shorter business meeting for the AGM and this will be a followed by:
A speaker at 8 pm when we are pleased to have Mark Goodwill speaking on ‘The Sheffield City Battalion and the Somme’ which will be illustrated with a PowerPoint presentation to cover:
Raising and training the Battalion. The Battle of the Somme and the Battalion’s action at Serre. Lessons learned from the battle, which contributed to final victory After the Somme – the Battalion during the remainder of the war
Mark is a well established speaker on the circuit and we are looking forward to his talk as we leave the 100th anniversary of the First World War behind after this year.
For the AGM, you DO NOT NEED to book places, just turn up on the night but we do require you to sign in
At the AGM, we will be voting for committee members.
The positions are: Chair, Treasurer, Minutes secretary, Membership secretary, Social secretary and general committee. All present serving committee members have expressed a desire to apply for re-election.
There is no need for present committee members to reapply for their positions-only communicate if you do not wish to continue

It would be really good to see you and to share what we have achieved over the last year and an overlook on what we are doing this year-note the early start time of 7.00pm
